Effect of AM Fungi on Antioxidant Enzymes Activity in Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

نویسندگان

چکیده

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) have been used to enhance the plant growth and yield maintain good health fertility that contributes great extents a sustainable product. The study was undertaken identify responses of antioxidant enzymes activities in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.Var PMK 1 Vaibhav) inoculated with AM fungi. increased enzyme such as Superoxide dismutase (SOD) Catalase (CAT) activity roots plants, indicating lower oxidative damage colonized plants. It can be concluded mycorrhiza helps plants by enhancing compared non-mycorrhizal Therefore, inoculation indigenous is recommended at seedling stage.

Preliminary Study on Hepatoprotective Activity of Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) Pulp Against Hepatic Damage in Rats

Tomato was evaluated for its liver protective role against carbon tetrachloride (CCl ) induced liver 4 damage in Wister albino rats. Animals were orally treated with tomato pulp (20 and 40 mL/kg body weight) for seven days followed by intraperitoneal injection (2 ml/kg) of 50% v/v CC1 on the last day. The degree of 4 protection was determined by measuring levels of serum biochemical parameters ...

Ripening-Dependent Changes in Antioxidants, Color Attributes, and Antioxidant Activity of Seven Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) Cultivars

To evaluate the ripening-dependent changes in phytonutrients, seven commercial cultivars (two general and five cherry) of tomatoes were cultivated under greenhouse conditions. Fruits were harvested at breaker, turning, pink, light red, and red stages of each cultivar, and antioxidant contents, color attributes, and antioxidant activities were measured. During ripening process, lycopene content ...

Sterol composition of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) seed oil: the effect of cultivar

The effect of cultivar on sterol composition of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) seed oil from three industrial cultivars (Principe Borghese, Rebelion F1 and San Marzano) grown in Calabria Region (Southern Italy) was investigated. Sterol composition is presented both as percentage on the total sterol content (%) and as an absolute value (mg/kg). Rebelion F1 produced the worst seed oil in terms ...

Worm castings-based growing media with biochar and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi for producing organic tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) in greenhouse.

Organic vegetable production has specific research and innovation requirements which are not shared by other parts of the food and farming sector. A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the interactive effects of few permitted organic inputs such as arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, biochar, and different ratios of peat:worm casting on tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) growth, mycorrhizal dep...

Changes in Polyphenols Contents and Antioxidant Capacities of Organically and Conventionally Cultivated Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) Fruits during Ripening

Polyphenols of fruits and vegetables form an important part of human dietary compounds. Relatively little is known about accumulation of phenolics during fruits ripening process. The goal of this work was to study the changes in antioxidant activity and in content of 30 polyphenols during ripening of tomato fruits. Five organically and conventionally grown tomato cultivars were investigated at ...
